Halloween fun with a little one

My little PeaPod

Charlie the Chicken
September has flown by and October is right around the corner. Fall is my favorite time of year for many many reasons, but it is so much more fun to enjoy this year with our little boy! I've never been a big fan of Halloween, but I think it is shaping up to be one of my favorite faux holidays after putting Charlie in a few costumes! Andy's sister gave us the PeaPod outfit and I found the Chicken at Once Upon a Child in Indy. I can't decide which one to use!

FINALLY the murals are in and up!

So I have been waiting 8 LONG weeks for the paintings I ordered from Decor 4 Kids. Finally they are in and Andy put them up this evening for me! Unfortunately, I don't have the bumper on the crib (for safety reasons) and don't have the crib sheet I ordered on it at this moment (because Charlie spit up on it last night). But you get the general idea. I'm thinking Andy and I will have to give in and find out the gender of Baby Weaver #2 just so I can actually get the nursery ready ahead of time. It is too much work to do it afterwards! Hope you like it :)

Cuddle time with my Charlie :)

It is unbelievable how quickly 10 weeks have gone by. I try not to think about it, but my maternity leave will be ending in less than 3 weeks. As a matter of fact, my first day back at work is the day after Andy and my 1 year anniversary. The thought of not being able to cuddle with Charlie every morning is so sad, but at the same time I think I'll be ready to get back to work and establish our new normal. :)

Charlie has finally kicked this cold (thank god) and began sleeping through the night again. I had to go wake him up this morning at 7:30am! I walked in his nursery and he was just wide awake looking at the ceiling. He gave me a big smile as soon as he saw me. That little face never gets old! And he laughed for the first time last night as Andy was making faces at him. We proceeded to spend the next 30 minutes making funny faces at him to make him do it again. No luck! Here are a few more photos from the last couple of days...

Why is everyone so excited about this football stuff? It is boring me!

Take one guess as to who dressed me...at least I match!

2 months old already. REALLY!?

September 10, 2011

Charlie had his 2 month check-up this week and got his first round of vaccinations. He had one oral vaccine and 3 shots. Even though he cried, he handled it much better than I would have. I hate needles! He was 12 pounds 8 ounces and 23 inches. That puts him in the 70th percentile in weight and 40th percentile in height according to the doctor. Even though he is congested and coughing all the time, the doc didn't sound too concerned. He isn't running a fever, so I guess we just have to wait it out! The poor guy is going on 2 weeks with this cold and mama is going on little sleep as we've reverted back to getting up at least 3-4 times in the middle of the night. Hopefully he doesn't forget what it was like to sleep through the night!

I thought I would also include his "one month" picture because I never got around to blogging about it. I've also included a few more photos from his first couple of months!

It's a BOY!

Charles William-- 8 lbs 6 oz and 20.5 inches

So I realize this post is coming REALLY late, but the Weaver household has had quite a bit going on since the birth of our baby boy! Charlie was born Sunday, July 10th...one week early which made his mamma love him even more if that is possible. :) I was really fortunate to have a relatively quick labor for a first time mom. Andy and I arrived at the hospital at 6am Sunday morning and Charlie was born by 1:51pm that afternoon.

The first few weeks were pretty rough as little Charlie had his days and nights mixed up. I was told he should be waking up every 3 hours to eat...well the little guy wouldn't even make it 20 minutes initially! Luckily, my mom and mother-in-law came to stay with us for the first few weeks to help out. I don't know how single moms do it! We needed all the help we could get. By the end of 6 weeks, Charlie was sleeping through the night. I put him down at 10pm and he wakes up between 5:30am and 6:30am. He did this for 2 weeks, anyway, until the night before last. He was waking up every hour and the poor little guy has his first cold. So needless to say, I haven't got much sleep the past few nights, but whatever I can do to help comfort my little man :)

I'm going to try my best to be sure the next post isn't 2 months from now. But it is amazing how time consuming a little one can be! In the meantime, here are a few more pics from his professional newborn shoot and also from his first few days....

Our first night home...a real wake up call! :)
