A Mexican Themed Baby Shower

This past week 2 of my good friends from work hosted a baby shower for me here in Indianapolis. We had amazing weather and were able to sit outside and enjoy the Mexican fiesta theme. Erin and Adrienne did a wonderful job and the chicken tacos, guacamole, salsa, sangria, and mint lemonade were delicious! And probably the best part...dessert was No-Fry Fried Ice Cream and was a huge hit. Well...maybe the party favors were the best part. Adrienne makes killer monster cookies and knows how much I love them. :)

Andy and I were lucky enough to receive even more necessities for the nursery. We got everything from  bath time supplies to talking bears to wipes and lotions. I was so excited that I spent about an hour arranging everything in its place once I got home.

I completely forgot to get out my camera until all the guests had left I(I'm blaming it on the baby brains) but I did manage to snap one with the 2 hostesses. :) A big THANK YOU again to Erin and Adrienne! You are the best.

The Weaver Nursery

So as many of you know, Andy and I have had the worst time ever in getting our baby furniture. We ordered a 3 piece set (convertible crib, changing table, and dresser) from JCPenney at the end of March. They initially said the pieces were just on back-order, but then recently told us our order was canceled all together because the manufacturer was temporarily out of stock. Something every hormonal 7 1/2 months preggo first time mom wants to hear, right?? So I ended up negotiating with JCPenneys and getting them to give me a more expensive set for the same price due to the inconvenience. Well, after many calls to JCPenneys and their sub-par delivery service in Indianapolis, we FINALLY received the furniture! My parents came over to Cicero last night for dinner, and my dad helped Andy put together the nursery. Here are the results of their efforts! I still need to get my artwork for the walls...so the room is far from done, but I was so excited I wanted to go ahead and post some pics.

Weaver Family Baby Shower in Peru-- Mother's Day Weekend

The adorable invite for our couple's shower
                                                                The chocolate cake...YUM!

Andy and I before the shower started.

                                                                30 Weeks and growing!
                                                                 Andy's grandmas and I.

So last weekend we attended our first baby shower. Andy's sister and sister-in-law threw us a family couples shower at the cabin. It was so exciting to start gathering things for the baby!! We received some essentials like our stroller, diaper bag and caddy, and changing pad as well as some fun gifts like money for belly pics and the baby's newborn pictures. Jenny and Charla did a wonderful job with the food and decorations. (Which I included above in a few pictures). Now if I could just get my baby furniture delivered so I can begin to organize the baby room I'd be all set!

A few belly pics....

                                                                        19 Weeks

                                                                         22 Weeks

                                                                        27 Weeks

I have a few friends who have created blogs through blogspot and finally decided to take the plunge and create one of my own. While planning for my wedding last year, I did create a wedding blog through a different website and loved posting pictures and stories about my wedding planning while keeping my family and friends up to speed on the wedding plans. So I figured I should go ahead and do the same with our baby planning!!

We are now 29 weeks along and I'm definitely starting to feel the pregnancy pains of the third trimester already. I believe I've officially painted my toenails for the last time and feel my exercise ambition weaning by the day. But so far I can't complain because I have had an amazing pregnancy so far!  I've gained about 28 pounds already (yikes) but most importantly, baby is healthy and growing by the day. Just this morning I went into my sister's office and had her ultrasound tech take 4D photos of the baby. So my first official post will include our baby's first official photo shoot! Everyone thinks the baby looks exactly like his or her daddy, and I completely agree. Can't wait to meet our little one in a few more months!

I'm smiling for the camera...and I'm only 27 weeks old!

Already looking a lot like my daddy....
